All courses are taught one on one, from instructor to student. Some students like to train with partners or in a small group.  Large group classes are not helpful to individual learning.  You should get the most out of your training so the classes are kept one one one, partner training, or in small groups.  It is always your choice.

Discounts are provided for partner training.

Instructor Chris teaches methods of self defense that are functional! One of the most important distinctions you can learn in self defense is knowing and training the difference between Self Perfection or Self Preservation.

Self Perfection is the part of training that is mechanical, structured, technique oriented, and fun to practice. Self Perfection gives you fight attributes that make you a better fighter and person. This is the principle with Jeet Kune Do (JKD) lessons.

Self Preservation on the other hand is functional, simple, straight to the point, takes little time to learn, and quickly neutralizes an attack. You will find these principles in our Street Safe Program.

The idea is not to learn each art in it's entirety but instead take what works from each art and apply it to the scenario it works best in. Every art has something to offer for each individual situation.

We are not mixing arts but instead adapting the best art to the situation. Doing this develops a self defense system that is simple, easy to learn and is functional in real situations!

My Sifu Paul Vunak taught me a specific, effective, and efficient form of Jeet Kune Do (JKD). The stand up system blends Filipino Martial Arts, Wing Chun, and Muay Thai.

We also incorporate submission fighting that originates in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Catch Wrestling. Psychology principles are used to enhance the learning process and speed the students learning.

"Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own."
- Bruce Lee

Jeet Kune Do (JKD) courses will help you master the same techniques developed by Bruce Lee and his students.  JKD is the foundation to the Street Safe Courses.  Bruce Lee emphasized practicality and flexibility in techniques, with the goal of adapting to any situation.  These lessons three major aspects of fighting; striking, ground fighting, and weapons.  Techniques from Muay Thai, Savate, Kali, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Catch Wrestling, Filipino Martial Arts, Wing Chun, and Jeet Kune Do Principles are covered.  Below are some concepts that you will learn

- Timing, rhythm, line familiarization
- Nerve and joint destruction's
- Chokes, joint breaks, sweeps, escapes (BJJ, Catch Wrestling)
- Single Angular Attack, Combinations, Hand Immobilization Attack
- Progressive Indirect Attack, Attack by Drawing
- Striking mechanics from Muay Thai and Savate
- Economy of motion, simplicity, centerline, non-telegraphic movement
- Weapons (Stick & Knife)

I understand how difficult it is to get to a weekly class, that's why I work around your schedule! I am flexible with times and training days so that you get the most out of your self defense lesson.  We schedule each week via email and text messaging.

All lessons are taught one on one at the instructors private studio.   The studio is heated in the winter, and cooled in the summer for a comfortable environment.  Mats and protective training equipment are provided to ensure the safety of all.  Cleanliness is always a priority!

You do not need to be in shape or an athlete to learn!  Positive attitude and a willingness to learn goes a long way.

No previous martial arts experience is necessary. We train in an informal environment. Competition is with yourself. The art is individualized to fit your needs and lessons are self paced.  I aim to teach like minded people who want to protect themselves and their loved one.

No uniform is needed.  Wear something comfortable!  We often train without shoes to avoid injury and learn balance.

No contracts ever!  My focus is teaching and giving people flexibility in payment and scheduling.
